Back Pain

Fact: Back pain can affect an individual's ability to perform work tasks.

Fact: It can be a serious symptom of an underlying medical condition, with significant vocational consequences, causing between 6 and 10% of workers to stop working, change jobs, or make a major change in work activities.

Back pain can be caused by many medically determined conditions, including scoliosis (curved, bent spine), disc herniation (bulged, slipped, ruptured disc), spondylolisthesis (movement out of alignment of disc), and stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal).

At Melanson Law Group, we recognize that people cannot sustain jobs that require high physical demands without causing injuries.

We know serious pain causes marked reduction in a person’s physical residual functional capacity, and limits their ability to sustain concentration, persistence, and pace.

And we can help you with your disability claim by developing the medical and vocational evidence that establishes the nature and degree of your impairment.
